Inauguration of HCMR: Building China’s Management Academic Ecosystem
Amidst the transformative wave of AI and technological revolutions, enterprises are grappling with multifaceted pressures encompassing strategic repositioning, organizational restructuring, talent management, and technological adaptation. Pursuing the Executive DBA of Université Paris Dauphine-PSL serves as both a critical pathway toward achieving sustainable development and a historic opportunity to synthesize China’s traditional management philosophy with over four decades of reform and opening-up experience, thereby developing a distinctive “Chinese Management Philosophy”.
Building upon the Executive DBA program’s extensive research achievements, Université Paris Dauphine-PSL established the House of Chinese Management Research (HCMR) as a pioneering platform to systematize indigenous Chinese management practices, and empower enterprises navigating globalization and digital transformation. The inauguration of HCMR signifies a deepened Sino-French collaboration in management research. As Professor BERLAND emphasized: “Chinese entrepreneurial scholars are infusing global management knowledge networks with unique Eastern wisdom through their theoretical and practical contributions.”
Book Launch: China’s Approach to Healthcare Governance
Professor BERLAND praised the monograph as a “career-defining milestone,” adding: “Academic exploration is noble, but disseminating knowledge is paramount. For scholars, publishing is an intellectual adventure that etches their legacy.”
Professor LI Xuhong congratulated Dr. Yan Honghui, noting that her work provides actionable solutions for improving doctor-patient relationships in China and offers global healthcare management valuable insights. “The publication of Executive DBA alumni monographs not only showcases academic excellence but also advances China’s management theories,” she stated.
Professor JING Runtian, President of the International Association for Chinese Management Research (IACMR), highlighted the monograph’s value: “It transforms entrepreneurial wisdom into scalable theoretical frameworks. Future efforts must ensure these insights tangibly empower medical institutions.”
As Dr. Yan’s mentor, Professor ZHANG Shixian from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences reflected: “This research deciphers the complexity of doctor-patient dynamics, achieving social impact comparable to theoretical innovation. Dr. Yan’s five-year journey balancing corporate leadership and scholarship exemplifies the responsibility of entrepreneurial scholars.”
Ms. SUN Yu, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tsinghua University Press, remarked: “This book charts a human-centric path for private hospitals amid complex management models. Its lessons extend to public healthcare systems as well.”
Amidst applause, the ceremonial unveiling of Human-Centered Healthcare revealed its elegantly designed cover. Dr. Yan Honghui, Founder of Qingdao Bohou Huici Medical Technology, acknowledged: “Interdisciplinary integration proved far more challenging than anticipated, but Professor Zhang’s guidance and practical feedback ultimately brought this research to life.”
Academic Mission: A Systematic Ascent from Practice to Theory
With the establishment of HCMR, Executive DBA scholars will progress from Research Associates to Senior Research Fellows upon graduation, driving corporate sustainability and enriching the Chinese Management Philosophy through continuous research. China’s management academia requires more “practitioner-scholars” like Dr. Yan. HCMR’s structured platform ensures that local wisdom actively contributes to global dialogues, reshaping management paradigms for the 21st century.
