Launch of a New Master’s in the Medico-Social Field

Université Paris-Dauphine and the Regional Institute of Social Services for the Ile de France - Montrouge - Neuilly sur Marne have come together to create the Executive Education Master’s in Strategic Management of Services and Organizations for the Elderly. This program will welcome its first class in March 2015.

The Master of Strategic Management aims to train managers and professionals in high level establishments (EHPA, EHPAD), as well as service-providers (including home care professionals), those working in residential homes and those responsible for network coordination.

The management of organizations for the elderly is not a technical form of management but a management of those who accompany a fragile public.

“It appears necessary today to integrate in a program for the directors of these types of establishments a good understanding of the elderly. Therefore, this program offers a precise understanding of the particularities of the population in question, the expectations of quality and economic performance in the sector, the management of institutions as well as the issues surrounding change” explains Sandrine Dufour-Kippelen, Associate Professor at Université Paris-Dauphine, LEDa-LEGOS and co-director of the program.

“The partnership between Université Paris-Dauphine and the IRTS Ile de France-Montrouge-Neuilly sur Marne helps meet these different training requirements, combining high-level academic education, and interventions by professionals long involved in the gerontology sector” adds Brigitte Berrat, responsible for Programs and Research at IRTS Ile de France - Montrouge – Neuilly sur Marne.

A training program open to professionals in the medical sector and those in pursuit of corporate retraining, this level 1 diploma caters to officials in position to acquire new skills, those wishing to conform to the Decree of 2007 on the qualification of directors; and people wishing to take their career in a new direction.

The details: The program will begin in March 2015 and will take place over 12 months at the Université Paris-Dauphine and at IRTS in Montrouge. The courses are organized into modules, conferences, and individual tutoring for the professional project.

Each module is specialized around complementary themes: Understanding of the gerontology sector and of the elderly, strategy and management of institutions and services for the elderly, the position of manager, project management, and accompaniment with a professional project.

The directors of this program are Sandrine Dufour-Kippelen (Associate Professor, Université Paris Dauphine, LEDa-LEGOS) and Brigitte Berrat (in charge of Programs and Research at IRTS Ile de France - Montrouge – Neuilly sur Marne).
